A bulb that keeps blowing, a window that's stopped, central locking with a mind of its own, wipers that won't park, a battery that's flat every few days, or a warning light that comes and goes. Electrical faults are the ones that get guessed at. We trace them circuit by circuit instead.
What we fix
- Lights — bulbs that keep blowing, headlamps out on one side, indicators flashing fast, number-plate and brake lights, corroded connectors and earths. All MOT items.
- Windows, locks, mirrors and sunroofs — regulators, motors, switches and the wiring in the door loom that breaks with age.
- Wipers and washers — motors, linkages, pumps and blocked jets. MOT items too.
- Battery drains — a car that goes flat when parked: a module not sleeping, a boot light, an aftermarket alarm or a stereo.
- Sensors and intermittent warning lights — chafed wiring, water in connectors, corroded earth points.
- Heater blowers, horns, 12V sockets, heated screens and seats.
How we work
- Reproduce the fault where we can and read every control unit, not just the engine — many "electrical" faults are a module logging a low-voltage or a network error.
- Test with the wiring diagram for your car: voltage drops, earth resistance, live data on the circuit, wiggle-tests on the looms that flex (doors, tailgate, steering column).
- Repair the wiring properly — soldered and heat-shrunk, not twisted and taped — or replace the failed switch, motor or module, coded to the car where needed.

Electrical faults questions
Why does the same bulb keep blowing?
Usually a poor earth or a corroded holder making the bulb run hot, sometimes a voltage problem from the alternator, occasionally the wrong bulb. We fix the cause rather than sell you another bulb.
My battery goes flat if the car sits for a few days. Battery or drain?
We test both. A healthy battery that still goes flat means something is drawing current when the car is asleep, and we find which circuit with a meter, fuse by fuse.
Can you fix an intermittent fault?
Yes, but it can take longer, because it has to be caught in the act. We'll tell you what we found and what it will take before we spend your money chasing it.
Are electrical faults an MOT fail?
Any light, indicator, horn, wiper or washer that doesn't work is, and so are the ABS, airbag and engine warning lights if they stay on.
