When it's a clutch, a gearbox or the engine itself, you want someone who'll tell you straight whether it's worth doing — and then do it properly. We've been fitting them on Enterprise Park for over 15 years.

A clutch usually lasts 70,000–100,000 miles, but that depends hugely on how the car's driven — town traffic and towing wear one out far faster than motorway miles. The classic signs it's on its way:
- Slipping — the revs climb but the car doesn't pick up speed, especially uphill or in a high gear.
- High biting point — the pedal's almost at the top before anything happens.
- Hard to select gears, particularly first and reverse from a standstill.
- A rattle or judder when you release the pedal — often the dual-mass flywheel rather than the clutch plate itself.
We fit complete clutch kits — plate, cover and release bearing — and replace the dual-mass flywheel where it's worn, because fitting a new clutch to a tired flywheel is a false economy. Gearboxes & enginesRepair, replace or recondition
Gearbox whines, jumping out of gear, an engine with a knock or a head-gasket failure — these are the jobs where the right advice matters more than the repair. We'll inspect, explain what's happened, and lay out the options: repair the unit, fit a good used one, or go reconditioned. We supply and fit all three, and we'll tell you honestly when the car isn't worth it.
After any major engine or gearbox job the oil and fluids are replaced with the correct specification, and we road-test before handing back. We work on cars and light vans. Class 7 MOTs arranged through our trusted partner station — one call to us covers it.

How do I know my clutch is going?
The revs rise but the car doesn't pick up speed, the biting point is very high, gears are hard to select, or there's a rattle when you release the pedal. Bring it in — a clutch that's slipping will only get worse.
