The service finds it before the tester does
Around three in ten cars fail their first MOT, and most of the fails are things a service picks up: a bulb, a tyre on the limit, pads worn thin, a split wiper, a washer bottle that's empty. Done in the same visit, the service comes first, we sort the small stuff, and the car goes into the test in the best shape it can be. If it fails anyway, you already have the car with us and the retest is free when we do the repairs.
Which service?
- Bronze — oil and filter, levels, tyres, lights and a minor safety inspection. A well-kept car between major services.
- Silver — Bronze plus air filter, battery and charging test, brakes measured and reported. Most annual services.
- Gold — Silver plus spark plugs or fuel filter, pollen filter and a full safety inspection. Every two years, or before a long trip or a sale.

How the day works
Drop the car at Enterprise Park or use our free local collection. We service it, then test it, and text you when it's done — usually the same day. Anything we find during the service is photographed and quoted to your phone; nothing is added to the bill without your say-so. What to bring →
MOT and service questions
Is VAT added to the MOT?
No. MOT fees are outside the scope of VAT, so the £45 is exactly £45. The service price includes VAT and is shown as its own line, so you can see exactly what you're paying for each.
Can I add an MOT to any service level?
Yes. Bronze, Silver or Gold, any engine size — tick the MOT when you book and both go into the same appointment. The service is done first so the car goes into the test in the best shape it can be.
What if the car fails the MOT?
You get an itemised, photographed quote on your phone. Approve what you want done and the retest is free when we do the repairs. Most fails found during a service are small, because the service has already dealt with the obvious ones. Lois can explain any fail item in plain English.
Can I book them on different days?
Of course — book each on its own. Doing them together just saves you the second trip and means anything the service finds is sorted before the test.
Will an independent service affect my manufacturer warranty?
No. Under UK block exemption rules any garage can service your car provided OE-quality parts are used and the manufacturer's schedule is followed. We do both and stamp your service record.
